Taylor Charters is based out of Gustavus, Alaska - fifty miles west of Juneau, Alaska’s state capital.
With the stunning Glacier Bay National Park as your backdrop, you will experience superb fishing for halibut, salmon, lingcod, rockfish, and possibly even salmon sharks.
We have some of the best halibut fishing around, with the potential to catch a record-size fish at anytime!
The abundance of wildlife in the Icy Strait of Southeast Alaska is incredible! Humpback and killer whales, sea otters, bald eagles, porpoises, puffins, and even bears are common!
Greg Taylor has been obsessed with fishing since childhood. Fate brought him to Gustavus in 2001 and he never looked back. Quickly mastering the tides & fish migration, Greg started his namesake outfitter - TAYLOR CHARTERS - in 2006.
Captain Taylor is a true veteran of the waters of the Icy Strait.
Guest satisfaction is his top priority.
He refuses to give less than 100% for his clients, and expects the same amount of effort from each and every Taylor Charters captain/guide.
Our fishing grounds consistently boast the second highest average halibut size (second only to Dutch Harbor) in all of Alaska, according to Fish & Game statistics.
We catch most of our halibut within just 15 minutes of the Gustavus City Dock and at depths of only 50-250 feet!
The Icy Strait is also sheltered from the open ocean waves and ground swells, minimizing concerns for those individuals who may struggle with sea sickness.
Send us a message if you have any questions about our services, availability, or any promotions we may be running. We'll get back to you as quickly as we can (or just as soon as we're in from fishing)!
